This term, the school has been holding a ‘summer reading challenge’ to develop the children’s experiences of independent reading both at home and at school. Each class have a daily independent reading session in which children are able to enjoy a book of their choice. As well as reading at school, there is a home competition, and a prize can be won by the child in each year group that spends the most time reading during evenings/ weekends. The prize will be a ‘Kindle’ e-reader donated by the PTA.
The summer reading challenge officially finished today. Please can all scoresheets be returned as soon as possible. The prizes will be presented in assembly towards the end of next week.
