It has been another fantastic year for the children at Bedwas Junior School.  Thank you to parents and the wider community for supporting the school and helping the pupils continue to be well behaved, polite and hard working.  We wish the very best for the Year 6 pupils who are moving on to secondary school.  They have acted as role models for everyone in school and should feel very proud of all their achievements.  Thank you also to the teaching and support staff.  Their ongoing commitment to their respective roles ensures that they have played a major role in the success of the school.

Some of the school’s achievements over the year have included:

  • Being identified as a ‘green’ school through the Welsh Government National categrisation;
  • Achieving the ICT NAACE Mark for excellent practice and provision across the school;
  • Achieving the Governor Bronze award for effective strategic leadership by the school Governing Body.

However, in addition to the above recognition, the day-to-day provision which the children receive not only identifies the school’s commitment to high standards in literacy and numeracy but also provides creative, enrichment opportunities which offers breadth of learning.

Most of all, however, I would like to thank the children across the school for their continued positive attitude to their learning and their overall contribution to the school.  It is an absolute pleasure and a privilege to be part of Bedwas Junior School.
