Staffing Update – Purple and Green Class

As you will be aware, Mrs Samantha Banks is due to begin her maternity leave towards the end of term.  To accommodate Mrs Banks’ period of absence, a number of staffing changes will take place from next week.

Miss Sarah Pugh will become full time teacher of Purple Class for the remainder of the year.  Miss Pugh is very well known to the children having taught in their class on a number of occasions.  To ensure continuity, Miss Pugh will teach the children alongside Mrs Banks for two weeks prior to the start of the maternity leave.

I am also pleased to welcome Mr. Kevin McGuckian to our school community who will teach for two days a week in Green Class. Miss Hillier will continue to teach Green Class on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.  Mr McGuckian has been working across the school since the beginning of term and is already familiar with the pupils in Green Class.  Again, Mr McGuckian will team teach alongside Miss Hillier over the next few weeks in order to ensure the transition is as smooth as possible.

I am aware that some of the Year 3 pupils in Green Class had a number of staff changes during their time in Bedwas Infant School.  However, the school is committed to ensuring the very best recruitment of teaching staff and will monitor to ensure standards are not affected as a result of the changes.
