On the 22nd November children in upper school will be taking part in a World War Two themed day in order to understand what school life would be like during the war. As part of the experience children will:
- cook rationed foods,
- use chalkboards for arithmetic,
- practise handwriting with a quill and ink,
- practise school drills.
To make the experience as enjoyable and beneficial as possible, children are asked to dress as evacuees. Parents/carers are not expected to buy costumes, please use materials and clothes available at home. If children have aprons please send them to school on this day to protect clothes when cooking.
