Sports Day

The forecast for tomorrow is dry and sunny, so we are pleased to announce that sports day will go ahead. We ask that all children wear their PE kits to school and as we will be outdoors all day, can I please ask that all children have sun cream applied before they come to school and also wear a hat? The format this year will incorporate the same inclusive approach in the morning, with a more competitive side to the events in the afternoon.

Sports day will be open for all parents/carers to come and watch their child compete. The morning session within Bedwas Junior School will start at approximately 9.00am with the afternoon’s events taking place at the high school at approximately 12.30pm.

The morning events will be held on Bedwas Junior School’s grounds where pupils will be taking part in numerous group and individual events.  Every pupil will be involved in at least two events and it is expected to be a fun packed morning!

The afternoon’s events will take place at Bedwas High with the more traditional sports day events. Trials have taken place in school which will give the afternoon a more competitive edge.

In the interest of safety, we politely remind parents/carers not to cross the line to give drinks and refreshments to their children as this has caused accidents in the past and can hold up proceedings.

Thank you to Mr Lloyd for organising Sports Day and we hope you are able to join us to cheer on our Bedwas athletes! Also, don’t forget to apply sun-cream!
