From this week each class in Bedwas Junior School will be participating in the ‘Daily Mile’. This is a nationwide initiative that encourages thousands of primary and secondary school children to walk or run a mile a day. The aim of this is to improve their physical and mental health as well as their general well-being.
Each class will walk or jog seven laps of the yard during some point of the day with the aim of getting faster the more times they participate. In schools that have taken part in the challenge it has already shown an increase in attention in pupils and an improvement in physical fitness abilities and emotional responses.
