This year’s sports day will be held on Monday 25th June. The format this year will incorporate the same inclusive approach in the morning, with a more competitive side to the events in the afternoon. Trials have been taking place in school this week and those children who have made it through to the afternoon events will be bringing home a letter.
The morning session within Bedwas Junior School will start at approximately 9.00am with the afternoon’s events taking place at Bedwas High School at approximately 12.50pm.
The morning events will be held on Bedwas Junior School’s grounds where pupils will be taking part in numerous group and individual events. Every pupil will be involved in at least two events and it is expected to be a fun packed morning!
The afternoon’s events will be taking place at Bedwas High where the more traditional sports day events will be taking place. Trials have been taking place within school time this week to give the afternoon a more competitive edge. The children not taking part in the afternoon events will remain behind in school to take part in other activities with Miss Storey and Miss Bodenham.
In the interest of safety, we politely remind parents/carers not to cross the line to give drinks and refreshments to their children. This has caused accidents in the past and can hold up proceedings.
The weather forecast for Monday is currently good. If however, there is unexpected rain, the school will inform parents as soon as possible. The reserve day for Sports Day is Wednesday 4th July.
As we have changed the format of the afternoon activities this year, if you do have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact the school.
