Merry Christmas!

We’ve come to the end of a long and busy term and it’s definitely time for the children to take a well-earned break! I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very happy, safe and peaceful Christmas.

School Uniform

In readiness for the new school term, we would like to remind parents of our expectations for school uniform. Most children wear the correct uniform on a daily basis; however, some children are still coming to school without the appropriate footwear.

As stated in our school prospectus, the school uniform comprises:

  • Navy jumper with ‘Bedwas Junior School’.
  • White polo-shirt.
  • Grey trousers for boys/girls. Girls may wear grey skirts also. Blue and white checked dresses may be worn in the summer months.
  • Dark coloured shoes. Black trainers which are designed to look like shoes are acceptable. However, no other colour other than black is allowed on the trainer.
  • Dark or grey coloured socks.

Teacher 2 Parents Text Service

We have bought into the ‘Teacher 2 Parents’ texting service as a way of improving home/school communication. In tandem with the Blog this service will enable us to keep you up to date with any important information.

It is an effective way for us to inform both specific groups such as parents of children in an extra-curricular club which has had to be cancelled as well as the whole parent body e.g., in the case of extremely bad weather that could cause the school to close. It will also be used to inform parents of up and coming PTA organised events.

If you would like to receive messages through this service please contact Mrs Luff in the school office for a consent form or use the slip on this week’s printed newsletter.

Christmas Carol Service

We have now sent out the requested tickets with the children. We have limited tickets remaining which will be distributed on a first-come, first served basis. Please contact the office to check availability.

Access to the school hall will be via the main front door only. The doors will open 10 minutes before the services start. We hope you enjoy the performances.

Whole School Trip to the Pantomime

All children have received a separate letter detailing information about this trip. Please send all completed consent forms and monies into school in a clearly labelled envelope as soon as possible so that final arrangements can be made. Thank you.

Christmas Carol Services

Ticket Allocation – Due to the size of the school hall we are restricted to the number of people that we can accommodate, therefore, we would like parents/carers to indicate which performance they will be attending and how many tickets they would like on the letter sent home on Wednesday and return to school as soon as possible. There will be a maximum of 2 tickets per family e.g. 1 ticket per performance or 2 tickets for one performance.  If more tickets become available then they will be issued on a first come first served basis.
