The school is very pleased with the feedback from parents/carers as we feel it reflects the hard work of all staff in aiming to provide the best possible provision for all learners in school.

We note from the results that 10% of respondents would like us to increase the number of activities including trips and visits. This can be a difficult issue to resolve as we have to take into account the amount of money we request from parents during the year to cover the cost of any visits. For example, in Year 6 this year, the residential stay at Tregoyd House cost £140.00 and an additional £5.00 for the coach to Roath Park. To try and reduce costs for parents/carers, we have increased the numbers of activity workshops which are fully funded by the school. This has included sport specialists, artists and ICT experts. From the summer term, the PTA has kindly agreed to part-fund the coach trips to make the visits more affordable for parents/carers.

All parents/carers are very welcome to arrange an appointment if they would like to discuss their responses in greater detail. For example, one parent ticked ‘disagree’ or ‘strongly disagree’ on the majority of sections on the feedback form. It was helpful to have the name on the form so the school was able to contact the parent, listen to their grievance and hopefully, resolve the complaint.
